Luxor -> Aswan

Itinerary

Von Luxor nach Assuan

Saturday – Day 1
Arrival in Luxor, pick-up and transfer to the Dahabiya Nile cruise. Check-in and cabin allocation.
You will visit two of Egypt’s most significant temples: the vast temple complex of Karnak, the second largest in the world, and the Luxor Temple, overlooking the impressive Avenue of Sphinxes, which stretches for over three kilometers.

Sunday – Day 2
In the morning, we travel to the west bank of the Nile (Thebes West) to visit the Valley of the Kings. Here, we explore three of the currently open royal tombs. We then continue to the terrace temple of Deir el-Bahari and the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Optionally, you may visit a traditional stonemasonry workshop, where craftsmen still practice their ancient art passed down through generations since pharaonic times.
To conclude, we visit the impressive Colossi of Memnon from the 14th century BC.
At midday, the ship sets sail and anchors near a small island before reaching the lock.

Monday – Day 3
During breakfast, the Dahabiya passes through the new and old locks and continues southward toward Edfu. After lunch, you will visit one of the best-preserved and most magnificent temple complexes in Egypt. The cruise continues peacefully to the next island where we will spend the night.

Tuesday – Day 4
Today we visit the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Haroeris.
Kom Ombo lies halfway between Edfu and Aswan, our destination for the day.
On the way, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a special experience: a refreshing swim in the Nile – the longest river in the world – completely safe and crocodile-free. Take time to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere.

Wednesday – Day 5
Transfer to the airport and individual departure.
